"The next time-lapse video showcasing the creation of Chinese ink brush calligraphy tattoo art. Although originally painted as a larger composition, due to specific preferences regarding proportions, this series was able to be truncated and kept within roughly a quarter back area. The smaller the possible 'canvas' within this aesthetic the less finer-details that are able to be captured yet the majority of the delicate brush fractures from the writing were retained. Calligraphy artwork for these tattoo sessions is initially created by Joey Pang on rice paper using traditional techniques. The placement of these characters' are transferred onto the skin as an outline to provide an indication of movement and positioning before the session commences. Essentially though, the entire calligraphy piece is meticulously re-created by hand during the tattooing process.
